Luigi Brancato studied biomedical engineering at the Federico II University of Naples, Italy.

He later obtained a PhD in Engineering Sciences: Electrical Engineering at KU Leuven.

His areas of expertise include biocompatibility, design of implantable medical devices, hermetic packaging, monitoring of cardiovascular and urinary systems, signal acquisition and conditioning, as well as flexible and stretchable electronics.

Since June 2019, he has been with ElmediX and is currently leading the technical team and the development of their technical solutions and sensor technology.
